With the final days of our brick-and-mortar shop ticking down (our last day is February 22!), I’ve been feeling all the feels—gratitude, nostalgia, and maybe a tiny bit of denial. Running this store has been a wild, beautiful ride, and while I’m excited for our next chapter online, there are definitely things I’m going to miss.
So, in the spirit of reminiscing, here are seven things I’ll miss the most about having a physical store (plus one thing I definitely won’t!).
1. Creating Fabulous Window Displays
Oh, the joy of crafting a head-turning window display! Whether it was a whimsical forest scene, a bold pop of color, or something totally unexpected, I lived for the double-takes and “Ooooh, I had to come in after seeing your window!” comments. It was my way of setting the mood, telling a story, and making the shop feel like pure magic before you even stepped inside.
2. Meeting Our Customers (And Their Adorable Dogs!)
This one stings the most. Getting to know you—yes, YOU—has been the heart and soul of this business. I loved catching up on your latest adventures, swapping fashion tips, and, of course, meeting your ridiculously cute pups. (Some of them practically had VIP status around here.) The friendships we built weren’t just “shop talk”—they were real, and I’ll cherish them always.
3. The Thrill of Our $50 Weekly Giveaway
If you ever signed up for our emails in-store, you know we picked one lucky subscriber each week to win a $50 gift card. The best part? Surprising the winners! Some of you thought it was a joke (it wasn’t), and others straight-up squealed with excitement. Those little moments of unexpected joy? I’ll miss them like crazy.
4. Seeing Customers Take a Fashion Risk—And Love It
One of my favorite things was playing fashion matchmaker—handing a customer something they never in a million years would’ve picked for themselves and watching their eyes light up when they tried it on. “OMG, I love this!” was music to my ears. Watching you step outside your comfort zone and absolutely rock it? Pure gold.
5. Our Legendary Easter Egg Hunt
Who doesn’t love a little treasure hunt? Every year, we hid Easter eggs around the store, and inside each one was a surprise discount (up to 40% off!). Watching customers hunt for those eggs like their lives depended on it? Hilarious. Seeing their faces light up when they cracked one open? Priceless.
6. The Magic of the Fitting Room Transformation
This. This right here is what I’ll miss most. Seeing someone walk out of the fitting room radiating confidence, knowing they look absolutely stunning in something we picked out together? It never got old. Watching them leave the store, head held high, with a bag full of joy? That’s what this business has always been about.
7. Steaming New Arrivals
Just kidding. I still have to do this. The glamour never stops!
The Next Chapter
While I’ll miss all of this (except the steaming!), the good news is Creative Muse isn’t going anywhere—we’re just moving fully online! That means you can still get all the bold, whimsical, and unique pieces you love, delivered right to your door.
