I look at a lot of clothes. Fall is always a fun season for fashion. The layers, the warm colours, the textured fabrics...but this fall feels different. Good different.
Fall 2026 understood the assignment.
This season feels less about adopting an entirely new personality every three months and more about taking things we already love—denim, cozy knits, great colour, interesting details—and making them considerably more fun.
And, conveniently, some of my absolute favourite trends of the season are all over our new Fall Collection.
Here are the five I’m most excited about.
1. Statement Denim
Denim has officially decided it is tired of being the supporting character.
I think this is a brilliant career move.
This fall, it’s the details, shapes and unexpected finishes that make denim interesting: wide legs, barrel silhouettes, raw hems, embroidery, embellishment, unusual pockets, ruffles and washes that give an ordinary jeans-and-a-top outfit considerably more personality.
That is very much the denim story at Creative Muse this season.
We’ve brought in pearl-and-lace embellished wide-leg jeans, dramatic ruffle-hem denim, relaxed barrel shapes and a rainbow of different colours and washes that do considerably more than simply cover your bottom half.
We even have an embroidered-heart denim tunic dress (which you gals are absolutely loving, btw!), because apparently denim has branched out.
How I’d wear it:
When your jeans have so much going on, you really don’t have to do much more. Add a simple knit, sweater or tee, a sharp pair of boots and you're done.
The jeans ARE the outfit.
A fabulous development for those of us who would prefer our clothing occasionally do some of the heavy lifting.
2. Ribbons, Bows, Embroidery & Embellishments
Minimalists may want to avert their eyes for a moment.
Fall is getting decorative.
Bows. Ribbons. Pearls. Floral appliques. Embroidery. Metallic finishes. Glitter. Lace. Unexpected trim, ropes and braids.
Basically, the little details that make you stop scrolling and say, “Ooooooh. What’s THAT?”
We have leaned into this one rather enthusiastically.
Our black chunky-knit cardigan covered in dimensional cream bows might be one of the most obvious examples, but you’ll also find embroidered denim, pearl embellishments, braided ribbons, metallic finishes and feminine ruffles scattered throughout the collection.
The key is that these details aren’t making the clothes precious or overly girly. They’re being mixed with chunky knits, relaxed denim and everyday silhouettes, which makes them much easier to actually wear.
How I’d wear it:
Pick one piece with personality and let everything else calm down.
Bow-covered sweater? Simple jeans.
Embellished denim? Easy knit.
Glittery dress? Boots and minimal accessories.
We want interesting. We do not need to arrive looking like Michael's just threw up on us.
3. Stripes & Colourblocking
Stripes are hardly breaking news.
But this fall they’re bolder, wider, brighter and much less interested in behaving themselves.
Instead of the predictable little navy-and-white Breton stripe, we’re seeing colour combinations that become the whole reason you want the piece in the first place.
Which is very much up the Creative Muse alley.
Our fall assortment has multicoloured striped cardigans, colourblocked crochet, contrast trims and sweaters threaded with unexpected pops of colour—including that fabulous chocolate brown sweater with fluffy rainbow yarn woven through it.
These are pieces that make jeans interesting, rescue black pants from oblivion and give you the urge to repeatedly check yourself out in the mirror, because damn, you look GOOD!
How I’d wear it:
Let the colourblocked piece establish your palette, then pull one colour from it for your shoes, bag, jacket or accessories.
Or ignore that entirely and wear whatever you want.
There are no stripe police.
4. Lavender Everything
Apparently fall colour is no longer limited to rust, mustard, olive and seventeen slightly different shades of brown.
It's about damn time.
Are you also completely smitten with lavender for fall?
It has enough softness to feel feminine without becoming sugary, it looks beautiful with denim, charcoal, black, cream and chocolate brown, and it brings some life to a season traditionally determined to dress us like the forest floor.
We may have gotten a little carried away with it.
There’s our lavender velour quilted puffer, the oversized lavender pullover with eyelet ruffle detailing, our lavender balloon sleeve cardi, and of course our lavender high rise bootcut jeans... just to mention a few.
How I’d wear it:
Lavender + faded denim = gorgeous.
Lavender + charcoal = sophisticated.
Lavender + chocolate brown = ridiculously good.
Lavender + more lavender?
Highly encouraged.
5. Texture, Texture & More Texture
This might be my favourite trend of all. Fall clothes should make you want to touch them.
Velour. Faux fur. Chunky knits. Corduroy. Crochet. Vegan leather. Lace. Quilting. Fuzzy yarns. Soft washed denim.
Texture instantly gives an outfit more depth—even when the silhouette itself is incredibly simple.
Our velour quilted puffers are a perfect example. A basic puffer would do the same practical job, sure. But make it velvety, richly coloured and beautifully quilted and suddenly it becomes part of the outfit instead of the thing you grudgingly throw over it.
Same story with our faux-fur sweater, chunky textured cardigans, crochet knits and the corduroy and vegan-leather pieces you’ll find throughout the collection.
These are clothes that look interesting before you’ve added a single accessory.
How I’d wear it:
Mix textures instead of trying to perfectly match everything.
Faux fur with denim.
Velour with a soft knit.
Vegan leather with something fuzzy.
Corduroy with chiffon.
That contrast is what makes an outfit feel layered and intentional instead of overly coordinated.
The Bigger Fall 2026 Trend? Clothes Are Fun Again.
And THAT is what I like most about this season.
There’s colour. There’s texture. There are weird little details. Jeans are doing things. Sweaters have bows on them. Lavender has apparently been granted year-round residency.
After years of being told we needed closets full of beige “quiet luxury” basics, fashion seems ready to have a personality again.
Excellent. We’ve been waiting.
You absolutely do not need to replace your wardrobe every time a new season rolls around. But adding one fabulous new piece can make everything you already own feel new again.
Start with the one that makes you grin when you put it on.
That’s usually the right one.
