Because the perfect outfit deserves the perfect fit.

Let's talk sizing. Because nothing takes the fun out of fabulous new clothes faster than ordering your usual size and discovering that apparently, someone's definition of a Medium is wildly different from yours.

Here's the thing: sizing isn't universal. Not between brands, not between styles, and sometimes not even between two pieces from the same designer.

That's why we provide size charts, garment measurements, and fit guidance to help you find your best fit before you hit Add to Cart.

Rule #1: Never Assume Your Size

Just because you're usually a Medium doesn't mean a Medium is necessarily your best choice in every style.

A relaxed, oversized sweater is going to fit very differently from a tailored blazer or a body-skimming mesh top.

Always check the size chart and garment specifications on the individual product page before ordering. We also share helpful fit notes, including whether a style runs small, fits true to size, has plenty of stretch, or is designed for a looser silhouette.

And one important detail: All Creative Muse size charts and garment measurements are provided in inches.

What the Heck Is a Flat-Lay Measurement?

Glad you asked!

When we provide garment measurements, we use what's called the flat-lay method.

This simply means the garment is laid flat on a surface and measured straight across or along specific points, without stretching the fabric.

For example, if a top has a flat-lay bust measurement of 20", that means it measures 20 inches across the front, from one underarm to the other. That translates to approximately 40 inches around the garment at the bust, before accounting for stretch.

Our favourite trick? Grab a similar piece from your own wardrobe that fits you beautifully. Lay it flat, measure it the same way, and compare those measurements to the item you're considering.

It's one of the easiest ways to take the guesswork out of online shopping.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

  • Measurements are provided for the smallest size offered in each garment, unless otherwise specified.

  • As a general guideline, flat-lay measurements typically increase by approximately ½" to 1" with each size up. This can vary depending on the garment and designer.

  • Fabric matters! A stretchy knit, structured denim, and a flowy woven blouse can all fit very differently, even when their measurements are similar.

  • Don't forget your preferred fit. Some women love a little extra room, while others prefer a more tailored silhouette. There's no wrong answer—just your answer.

Use our handy visual guide to understand the key measurements you'll find in our product descriptions, including bust, waist, hip, rise, inseam, and overall length.

For the most accurate comparison, use a soft measuring tape and measure a similar garment you already own using the flat-lay method described above.

Remember: a garment's measurements aren't necessarily the same as your body measurements. Allow for the amount of room, stretch, and movement you prefer.
